A continuation from our first post, last Friday March 9th Elaine and Chris finally became Mr and Mrs Carline. The wedding took place at Three Rivers Country Club in Essex and I worked closely with the couple in the run up to the wedding to provide them with a variety of live music options for their wedding day.
Ceremony
The couple opted for an acoustic duo of male vocals/guitar and a female vocalist to provide the live music. Elaine walked down the aisle with her dad, Colin to “Here Comes the Bride” A traditional song but with a modern edge as it was played on guitar. They choose to sign the regsiters to ” I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and ” Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars, both of which worked beautifully with just guitar and vocals. The recesional was to “Greatest Day” by Take That
Drinks Reception/Wedding Breakfast
As the drinks reception was partly inside and party out we decided not to have anything live through the drinks reception as guests wouldn’t all be together. Instead with a capitive audience for the wedding breakfast Elaine and Chris decided on a saxophone and guitar duo. The guys played the new Mr and Mrs Carline into the wedding breakfast to “All You Need is Love” and then they played two sets through the meal and included songs by, Michael Buble, Adele, Frank Sinatra, Al Green and Ella Fitzgerald. The live music created a lovelt atmosphere without being obtrusive, you still want your guests to be able to talk.
Evening Reception
The new Mr and Mrs Carline kicked off the dancing to Songbird, followed by Moondance before we got the party started with a real mix of music from Motown, disco, rock, indie and some current chart stuff. We played three sets of live music rounding of the evening with a couple of songs chosen by Elaine and Chris, Amazed by Lonestar and Heaven by DJ Sammy.
