Couple: Natasha Waldock and Jay Wyatt
Venue: Gaynes Park Barn, Epping
Date: 30th August 2009

The Brief

Natasha booked One Foot in the Groove's 'Big Day Package'. She wanted music for the ceremony, held in the orangery, a jazz trio for the drinks reception held just outside in the beautiful gardens, a jazz trio for the wedding breakfast and the 7 piece band for the evening party.

Louise, from One Foot in the Groove met with Natasha and her mum at Gaynes Park Barn ten months prior to the wedding so that Louise could discuss the logistics with her and discuss the sort of music that Natasha wanted.

For the civil ceremony the jazz trio played as the guests were taking their seats. Natasha chose 'Here Comes the Bride' for her entrance, The couple picked 'Strangers in the Night' for the signing of the registers and the recessional was accompanied by 'Love is in the Air'.

As the guests wandered outside they enjoyed drinks whilst the trio of piano, bass and drums played some jazz and swing classics. Just before the reception finished the trio quickly moved and set up in the main barn ready to play through the wedding breakfast.

The theme of the wedding breakfast was James Bond, so the bad played the new Mr and Mrs Wyatt in to the James Bond Theme, and throughout the breakfast played a selection of jazz, easy listening and James Bond songs.

Once the formalities were completed, the rest of the band arrived to set up. The first dance was to 'Happy Together' by the Turtles, which the band arranged specially for the couple. The party continued with a selection of classic soul, disco and pop songs to get everyone on the dance floor. By the end of the night the band had literally got everyone rocking with the Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis, Bryan Adams and Lynard Skynard. We rounded the night off with the couples choice of 'Don't Wann Miss a Thing' by Aerosmith and New York New York.

Letter from the Bride

I can't get everything I wanted to say on the card so thought I'd email you as well...

I just wanted to say thank you so much for a totally amazing set. From start to finish the entire band had everybody up on their feet dancing along, there was such great vibe which meant everybody really enjoyed our wedding - quite a few comments saying it was the best wedding day they have ever been too!

Throughout the day the band played the music we requested so perfectly, from the wedding marh to the James Bond songs, they really helped create a relaxed atmosphere. Then into the evening we were all totally blown away at how good the music was, you had everybody up and dancing - my dad didn't leave the dance floor all night!!

But the one thing that really stands out for me is the song you played for our first dance. It was perfect and we loved it - thank you for learning it and giving it your own sparkle of magic.

We had so many great comments from so many of our guests and across all spectrum of ages, I wouldn't be surprised if you hear from some of them in the future.

I'm so glad we booked you, I'm also grateful at how easy it was to organise - which is a credit to you personally.

Thanks again!!

Natasha
